Physically disciplining your child will soon be unlawful in South Africa

Though I do believe this will raise a generation where there is no reasonable belief that there will be any consequences.

To be fair, some parents can raise kids without the need for corporal punishment.

Yes, but we should also allow them to roundhouse kick their baby brother in the face, well just every now and then, to keep him on his toes.

No consequences, this is how you get school shootings!

Joh, that's a bold statement.

Good step, but I doubt whether it is actually enforceable.

How are you supposed to discipline a child then?
The same way you discipline an adult. You exclude them from social interaction.

Some children are quite happy to go sit by themselves. Not everyone thrives on being a part of society.

As always, it's not physical punishment/discipline that is the problem, it's the moronic idiots that take it a step too far. As always, our moronic government rather caters to the morons in the population who don't understand the difference between giving your kid a hiding and beating your kid black and blue out of rage/frustration/anger.
