PIA VPN not working on Telkom LTE

Hi

I have a PIA vpn account. I have been using it with no issues on ADSL. I am unable to connect to PIA VPN using Telkom LTE. Is there a reason for this?

Not sure I use FinchVPN to connect and it works very well. I can assure you that VPN is not blocked or rate limited in any way.

Have you tried a different port and protocol to connect?

I have a TP-Link MR200 LTE router... With my netgear (ADSL) router I did not have to change any router settings to get the VPN to work.

I don't know much about VPNs etc., but I found some stuff on Google about VPN tunneling (blah, blah) and having to enable it on the (LTE) router or adjusting/adding a setting to allow the VPN traffic through. (I hope this makes sense to someone...)

Edit: Seems like I have to configure some IPSec settings in the router - oh man, why can't it be as simple as the Netgear DSL router - plug and play.

Well I connect to VPN on my PC so I use OpenVPN because the Router does not have a VPN option so not sure where you are having trouble.

My netgear had no issues - I didn't need to configure anything. I just used the PIA app. Seems like the TPLink is blocking the VPN traffic/connection somehow and I need to configure it

Ohh okay. Why not just use OpenVPN or does PIA not have OpenVPN config files?

I'm not familiar with OpenVPN... I will have a look. I have a 1 year PIA subscription. I use their proxy when downloading torrents.... But now my torrents are also not downloading, with the proxy enabled. So the router must be blocking the connection/traffic somehow...

haven't had any issues with the pia app atm to be honest.. haven't tried setting up the VPN through the router though..

Same problem since last week to another VPN. When I change to MTN LTE I can connect. Definitely a Telkom problem, not sure if this is intentional from them or a network problem. Where can we report this? Hellopeter seems to be only place that gets attention from them. Pls report to hello peter, I'll do the same.

Happy camper this morning I can connect to the VPN again this morning and Telkom responded on hello peter acknowledging my problem with a reference number, so either this got fixed or it was part of the Netflix VPN crackdown maybe ... I;m not using Netflix for the record.
