Pick n Pay and Takealot taking the fight to Checkers Sixty60

Pick n Pay and Shoprite's battle for customers looks poised to intensify as the South African grocery giants rapidly expand their on-demand delivery services.

Pick n Pay published its interim results for the 26 weeks ending 28 August 2022 on Tuesday, showing its online sales surged during the first six months of its current financial year.

Yeah good luck with that. the local PnP here messes with pricing so much its a joke. A pack of Nick Naks went from R12.99 on Thursday, Friday it was R19.99, Monday it was R12.99 again. Thats just one example of the nonsense they get up to. Will stick to 6060 thanks.

I uninstalled the MR D APP, even drivers must get tips now? IDK it all seems to add up, better to just go and get it myself.

Wait for Black Friday, that week they'll sell the small Colgate tooth paste tube for the price of 2 regular sized ones and call it a BF Special. Or their toilet paper is the rolls that looks like the size of a regular roll, but when you press it, you see it's actually loosely rolled up in a manner that less looks more. Their special is more to-do with the extra action you get....without the lube (if you know what I mean).

Just received my Takealot order from a guy driving a Checkers Sixty60 bike. He also does Mr D deliveries.

In 2 years I have received 2 free delivery vouchers from Checkers, the first welcome one and then a random one some time later. In 2 months I have received 9 from Pick and Pay, have yet to pay for delivery. They should just make it free delivery over X amount
