It'll certainly help if not stop it entirely. You have a point on the structure needing reinforcing, as the cab is not load bearing other than itself its made very light and thin.

They invested in it because it is a lucrative market, and they can make trucking companies more efficient and run 24x7 with self driving vehicles.
