If you can't read or understand english, then you can't ****ing drive on our roads. Period.

All road signs/ instructions etc. are in English and sometimes Afrikaans. You are a danger if you are illiterate.
Most are symbols.

A learners test is piss easy, you must be dumb as fsck if you can't pass it.

I finished with like 5 or 10 minutes to spare. Actually answering questions took maybe a minute in total - all the time was spent paging between the booklets to match the codes in the questions with road signs. Stuff like 3CC = construction sign. It was f**king infuriating and thanks to how the test was set, much more time consuming than I would expect such a nuisance to be.

Hopefully it's less of an issue now. But I wasn't surprised that only myself and two or three others seemed to finish in time. I didn't waste a second with the constant back and forth between booklets and as mentioned, didn't have much time to spare. The general lack of page-turning in the room made me assume that literacy was a problem as well.
