I'm so sorry—love, backstreetboy. God forgive me.
Cape Town - A woman who took her dog for a stroll in Sea Point has been saddled with a R10 000 vet bill after her greyhound was mauled by a pit bull.

Harriet Came said she received no apology from the pit bull owner and has taken to social media to find him.

The incident happened along the promenade at around 6pm on Friday.

She said she saw the pit bull with its owner, and it was on leash.

As Came, her daughter and their greyhound named Rosie continued on their walk, Rosie went closer to the pit bull to greet.

“The pit bull was on the lead, my dog went to it to say hello.

“The pit bull clenched my dog’s face and wouldn’t let go.”

The injuries were so severe that Rosie had to have an operation on her cheek, Came said.

In this case, it's the greyhound owners fault. You do not take another dog to go "greet" a pitbull. That's just asking for trouble. I had 2 pitbulls and believe me, they regard themselves as "protectors", and will attack at any time it feels that something is a threat to you or itself.

thread title should be - pitbulll minding own business attacks harrassing dog

Keep your dog on a damn leash. Also this line of hers “What is upsetting is that it could have been a child that walked past the dog.” is a nothing burger. "If my grandmother had wheels she would have been a bike"

I often go to Emmerentia with my dog, A Staffy, which all these uninformed morons think is a Pit Bull, and then people have their dogs loose all over the place. If I'm not looking, and your mutt strolls up and sizes my dog up or sniffs his ass, then it's on you if he reacts.

Luckily he doesn't, and is trained and schooled since a pup (As any responsible power breed owner MUST do), but it's still annoying because you just never know.

What use is a protective dog that cannot distinguish between friend and foe?

Essex Police said officers were called to a house in Hillman Avenue, Jaywick, where they found victim Esther Martin seriously injured.

The 68-year-old, who was visiting her 11-year-old grandson at the time, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 4pm on Saturday.

That 68 year old granny really had it coming.

Reality is they are just retarded dogs for retarded owners.

I would have thought common sense would stop you from letting your dog get up close and personal with a pittie...i wouldnt let my collies anywhere near them.
I walk wide circles around Pit Bulls, German Shephards, and Rottweilers. I do not trust them AT ALL when I walk my dog, who doesn't give a hoot about them, but if it goes down it's gonna be the worst.

I don't care how friendly your pittie looks. I will stay away as they are too unpredictable .
It's funny that I know where your profile pic comes from. Suddenly, that guy popped up on my Insta feed, and I've been seeing clips of him ever since.
