Places to work in CT that are considered "profit centers" and not "cost centers"?

This is an extension to the thread about software engineering as a career. One of the very good comments mentioned that you should find a place that's considered a profit center instead of a cost center.

So I was wondering which places to work for are considered "profit centers" in CT???
