Questions in the topic. :) Explain how how you paly, and why you play.

Also mention if you ever use cheats, if you do under what conditions - do you add mods etc? I think you now get the idea of my question.

:)

Edit: hmm. I guess this could've gone under gaming.

PC is my drug of choice
Always play at Medium/Normal difficulty (I like to think it's "how it's meant to be played")
And... what's the point of a game if you're going to cheat? I can understand once you've finished it and want to goof around but otherwise... you're just spoiling it for yourself. Also, I don't consider modding cheating. Oh, and yeah, modding after a vanilla play-through gives a game some longevity and is usually quite awesome :p

i play mostly xbox, unless its a rts and with games being so short these days i usually go for a higher difficulty, especially fps games, just finished Reach on legendary, made halo 2's legendary look like a walk in the park, wont even speak about halo 3

PS3 mostly.
Depends on the game, like on FPS I play on medium or hard and with rpg's I choose which one I want, depends on the game.
Dont use cheats. I use to use walkthroughs, not anymore tho, unless I'm uber stuck and have no idea what to do, which hasn't happened in a while. i do have cheats on GTA tho.. but well thats a given, everyone cheats there! :D

I play on the hardest difficulty with most games. I don't think any game out there is challenging any more:eek: I use mods for better textures for old games and graphic fixes. I never use cheats.

I usually play a game on normal, just to follow the story line.

I then play it again on the hardest mode for the challenge :p.

+ PC, Mainly Play FPS on it only, If the FPS is good ill Play it on Xbox aswell...i Usally Start Of With "Normal/Medium" Whatever....On PC Only Mod I Use Is For CS:S To quick Change Weapon Thats It, As For Cheats....Never Just Spoils It Too Much

+ Xbox, Never Use Cheats....Never!!! For One Cheats Spoil It, And For 2 If You Use Cheats Before You Hacve Finished The Game And Got the Achivements (Same As Trophey's On PS3) The System Disables The Gaining Of Achivments If You Use A Cheat, So Because Of That I Dont use

+ When It Comes To Difficulty, i Usally Only Do One Play-Through (I Dont Have Time, And Loose Intrest To Do The Game On A Second Difficulty) Although The Only Game I Did Start A Second Playthrough Was BORDERLANDS, Awesome The Second Time For XP And Guns

Play Xbox 360 only. I play the game on normal to follow the story line. I will only play it on the hardest difficulty level when I finished on normal and you get extra achievements for it, otherwise I stop at normal. Mods are not really applicable here, since Xbox can't allow user created stuff. I can't say I have ever played a game that has a cheat function on Xbox, unless I just didn't find it. I wouldn't use it anyway though. I use walkthroughs when I get stuck, or when I need to know all the locations of collectables (for achievements).

Xbox 360 for single player games. I choose normal/medium most of the time. If the game is a bit too easy I'll crank it up to hard after a while. But with Dantes Inferno I had to go down to easy for a while because my button mashing skillz aren't as fast as the game would like. I did complete the final level on hard though (7th try)!

no cheats EVER!! I would only use cheats after I've completed the story. Like for GTA, once I had finished the story and was going for 100%, I used the cheat to get ammo and guns and just walked around blowing stuff up and running away from the law.

PC mainly

Always play games games on the hardest setting ( FPS, 3rd person and Strategy )

I never use cheats ( unless like COD where I constantly die, like 40 or so times  right before the checkpoint, then I use godmode so I can run to the checkpoint and turn it off )

Mods: I use mods to enhance a game. Like on Fallout 3, I have mods that makes all the chicks d-cups, makeup , turns the bar in Megaton into a stripclub, naked chicks and adds .50 barret rifle and MP5 machine guns.

Use mods to add more stuff to a game.

Also use mods for Stalker to increase weight carried to 500Kg.

I create my own mods too, like taking the hostage sounds from CS:S and making them sounds like Cape Coloureds :D

Made a "kids next Door" mod where all the gun sounds are like "BANG! BANG!, PEW! PEW!", farting noises for the smoke grenades etc.

Depends on the Genre of the game but will mostly play on the Hardest setting if it is RTS or a fighting game! For FPS I will normally start on normal and after I finished the game then play on the hardest setting. This normally makes it much more reallistic like for instance COD WAW one hit and your dead.

Last time I used cheats was on PS1, either when I finished the game or just not into it or bored of it.

Medium/Normal/Regular is the baseline difficulty to enjoy a game, not too easy, not too hard. Too easy especially can take immersion away from a game and in some cases, completely kill the way the game is supposed to be played. A good example of this is the Hitman games. The higher the difficulty, the more you gonna have to become "Hitman" and think more tactically. Easy can turn it into a shooter.

Thing is, in a lot of games today "medium" is the new "easy". In Dead Space for example I barely died and only got killed by enemies that deal one hit kills. I was always 10 times stronger than anything in the game. The horror turned into action for me.

If you play on hard the first time, it's more rewarding and the game lasts longer :)

If you really want a challenge though, Resident Evil 4/5 and the last few CoD games can be a bitch on the hardest difficulty.

Easy . . . Normal . . . Hard

Don't use cheats, a walkthrough now again but games are not that hard anymore like they used to be. Its more about entertainment now.

Always play on hardest. Except God of War 3, I was getting nowhere on Titan and my controller was suffering because of my frustration.
