Playing mp4 and mkv video on CRT tv

Hey guys

I am looking for the cheapest way to play mp4 and mkv video on a small CRT tv. I know some dvd players with usb ports can do this but is it good? Media players would be ideal but they are pricey.

Where are you? I have a mede8er I think lying around that I am no longer using. Perhaps sell it to you for much cheaper than a new one?

Raspberry Pi running RaspBMC. Shouldn't work out to more than R500, I think.

Yeah look for a second hand media player not older than 5 years

Raspberry Pi v1. You should be able to pick them up cheaply.

v2 doesnt have rca out.
