PlayStation Store vouchers @ CNA?

I get discounts on purchases at CNA via Momentum Multiply's partnership with Edcon. This worked out really great last year as I saved a fair amount on PlayStation Store purchases by buying vouchers at CNA at a discount. Unfortunately, PlayStation Store vouchers have become more and more scarce at CNA stores in the Pretoria area. I check three CNA's fairly regularly but they've been out of stock for a few months now. The Centurion branch had stock in late November but it sold out before I could even buy my discounted Edcon voucher. I check other stores too when I'm in the area but it seems that it may be a Gauteng-wide problem? I eventually contacted CNA on a couple of different occasions. They promised to get back to me each time to let me know which stores do carry stock but that never happens.

Anyone know of Gauteng CNA's that regularly carry stock? Or can anyone shed light on why so many CNA stores always have Xbox vouchers available but never PlayStation vouchers?

My assumption is that here are more people as yourself that have made this calculation, and that they sell out quickly.

They definitely do sell out quickly but in-store staff at more than one branch have confirmed that they rarely receive PS Store stock.

Xbox users could also be buying the Xbox vouchers at a discount and there always seems to be stock (and no, I'm not trying to imply here that the Xbox is inferior or less popular in any way. Let's avoid those derails)

Tried looking at the online store but there's none there either.

You can pick up ps plus memberships for (indo rupiah 350 000) R300 /year if you purchase it on the Indonesian PS store.

He's referring to vouchers you buy for purchases on PSN, not a Plus subscription.

Though that is a steal itself.

I also share this frustration of not being able to find a CNA store with stock of the PSN vouchers. Even their online store shows them as out of stock now.

I may be wrong but I think it likely has something to do with the way that the PSN vouchers are distributed. They were always printed on those ridiculously wasteful folded cardboard things, but when I couldn't get one from CNA a few weeks back I went to BT Games and they had to login and print out the voucher on their laser printer in store.

I think that Sony/Ster-Kinekor may have switched to a digital only method of voucher distribution and this is possibly what is causing the shortage at CNA stores.

I hope I am wrong though. Was always nice to get a PSN voucher at CNA on account when there were good game sales on PSN but it was end-of-the-month-salticrax time.

My brother-in-law works for a company that also sells PlayStation vouchers (but sadly can't organise discount for me :D). The cardboard-style vouchers are definitely still being printed as affirmed by him. It may not be Ster-Kinekor's first choice for distribution though and you may still be right that CNA could be in the process of switching over.

Ster Kinekor Entertainment finally got back to me:

"We can confirm that CNA certainly does still stock Wallet Top-Up vouchers as part of their range, however, they are currently running low on stock.

We would estimate replenishment of stock some time in April."
