Hi guys,

Please assist me. I have acquired a Huawei E620 data card which works fine on MTN but I have also got a Vodacom Messenger contract plus a data bundle.

I have put the Vodacom SIM in the datacard and tried to connect but it doesn't work immediatelly. I assume I must set up a new profile:

I think I need to know the settings for:

Number (I assume it's *99#)
Username:
Password:
APN type (either Dynamic or Static)
APN:

Can anyone assist? Anything else I must change?

I'm doing this on MTN @ R2.00/Mbyte!

Thanks, Ken

The number I have in Windoze heXPee for the 3G-only connection, is:
Code:
*99***1#
leave username & password blank, use dynamic APN type, and APN use:
Code:
internet

Static  are your TCP/IP settings configured to automagically obtain an IP address on the HSDPA connection?

BTW, are you using the MTN dashboard software or the VMC [Vodafone Mobile Connect] dashboard s/w, or something else?

Yes

I'm using the MTN dashboard software. I don't have access to the VMC software - I only put a data bundle on a Messenger contract and I can't see a place to d/l Huawei software on the Vodacom site (only Mac software?)

I also d/l'd the latest software from Huawei but it seems the MTN software is a later version. Online update says it's up to date.

Regards, Ken
