Your rain reception affected by load shedding at all in this area? (Trying to work out if this is a viable LS internet solution in this area, speeds look great!)

Will only be affected if the backup power of the towers near you fail, or start stepping down power output.

In our area RAIN died along with other ISPs that piggyback on the same towers. So again its the lack of investment in standby power (because this is Africa) that is the Achilles heel of the technology.

So after doing a factory reset on my router and changing a ton of settings, I isolated my problem. It turns out my external antenna (Both) are faulty. Not sure how both popped but now I have good speeds from Rain on the 2300mhz band.

Got some pretty reasonable speed on our farm and another farm in Devon Valley today on Rain Mobile.

I'm on the cusp of coverage area...earlier in the year I was getting awful DL speeds and consistently < 0.1Mbps ULs and had been for a while and all but given up with RAIN...see my earlier post on this thread.

https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/threads/please-do-a-mybroadband-speed-test-on-rain.963009/post-22926996

A month or so ago was so f*cked off and fed up I decided to move my router around the home and found a relative sweet spot using an app on my Android and now regularly get DL/UL of 10-20Mbps/ 1-5Mbps

OK still not fantastic or anywhere near LTE-A , but I can live with it for now at least and watch HD streams and movies without continual disruption and endless reloads going round and round.....

This was at peak time, 21.25 on Friday night tonight:

ISP: Neology (Pty) Ltd
