Please do a MyBroadband speed test on Rain

Maybe just run a few tests at night. It seems its not the tower end of things. Seems to be more the backhaul transmission network is congested. Even Rain's Speedtest server last night was testing at 3-5mbps. Couldnt stream or do anything. Been happening a lot more often. Starting to consider other more reliable fibre options.

Fiber is more consistent, but it comes with other issues, like some idiot, pulling a backacter thru all infrustructure on the pavement and other outages. Then it takes a longish time to sort out, is my observation. We just got Frogfoot Fiber in our area, and I have what I consider to be a pretty good connection on 5G, so am not in that big a hurry, to jump to Fiber just yet.

Yea my area is serviced by Metrofibre and I share the same sentiment. Seems too many times fibre cuts affect the area. So I also depend on my Rain 5G premium service as its been stable and running for many years now.

Its only recently that the service degrades to the point of not being able to use it.

It feels like the days we used the R250 4G option they had when they started. Service was great for a while until it was over sold. Then the service just got pathetic.

Well, before, I did not have any option other than RAIN, now that Fiber finally arrived, I have another, tho it remains an unkown entity.

I used to use Rain few years back, since then i got Fibre 1gbit Down, 500mbit up. So for the moment i'm good.

But i see they keep raising the costs. Where'as with new tech and data, prices should be going down..not up.

I'm currently on the standard 5G package with 101 router. I get an average of 10-12mbps down, a 3rd of what the package is advertised as delivering, but upload is even worse, sitting around 1mbos up. What further aggrivates the situation, sending a short whatsapp video to someone brings everything to a grinding halt whilst the video sends. Any upload stops all download, which makes absolutely zero sense
