conspiracy theorist! It's normal to get speeds better than your line speed, Telkom does this deliberately. I believe it's so ICASA doesn't force them to gaurentee speeds... but it looks like they're doing so anyway with these new regulations.

haha... you're right.. and I was complaining about my line speed Decreasing after posting (hence the theory).. anyways, it's back up again a few days later to 50 odd. Viva over-selling!

Hi all, I am doing a study on the speeds of Telkom lines. I am using this thread to see if Telkom is giving us the speeds WE PAID for!!!!

all the tests taken for study so far:

201 Tests in total
19 tests on the 1024 package
65 tests on the 512 package
70 tests on the 384 package
47 tests on the 192 package

After I have enough data, I will analyze it and then i will decide who to send it to (Hellkom, Telkom.... maybe carte blanche? etc)

****PLZ I cannot use your test result if u do not include what package you have!!!!!!!

***also is does not matter how many times u do the test, it should be more accurate if u do it lots coz in the end I will use the average of everybody’s test!

**clear your cache and retry the test if you get super high speeds!!!

*PLZ only post results on the Telkom test (1st page, 1st post), it is very important everybody does the SAME TEST

I would like over 500 tests before i begin the analysis!
