Tried it and 250kbps download, 172kbps upload. Don't recall EVER seeing over 390 download on my 512 ADSL. Your link has showed slowest download I've ever seen, but the upload rate is the best I've seen. Will try it again tonite, see if less people on the DSLAMS might change the figures.

In the late afternoon ADSL becomes unusable. I think I must find another provider - preferably one that uses IS.
Any recommendations welcome!

I'm an ex-Telkom victim and now have the luxury of using the internet in Seoul, South Korea (R260/month).

Tried the speed test at www.ookla.com/speedtest and got 3255kbps download (406kb/s) and that's with eMule downloading at 85kb/s at the moment.

I am trying my damndest to do the Telkom speedtest too for kicks, but the website keeps timing out!

I've tried the following URLs and each one times out...

www.telkom.co.za/minisites/dsl/speed.html
www.tellkom.co.za

Assuming these to be right, what's going on???

you link to www.tellkom.co.za has 2 l's in it it's actually

www.telkom.co.za

oh, and your speeds listed above are slightly incorrect. you should use uppercase K when reffering to Kilobytes and lowercase in Kilobits. My bro also had the luxury of using seoul internet for a year. 8Mbps!! Really cheap and fast there, and uncapped! Unfortuneatly he still thinks he is in seoul sometimes and I have to keep a watch on him. otherwise we go over our 'HUGE' 5GB cap...sigh

Hi folks

There are many members that wonder how their ADSL performs in comparison with other ADSL users. This is of particular interest when one would like to compare packages.

If you have some spare time please do the Telkom speed test and give your package & speed. Speed test URL: http://www.telkom.co.za/minisites/dsl/speed.html

Thanks and regards,

RPM
Do you need special software to test your line or can i just click the test link.

No special software needed. Just click. The HTTP/FTP tests are just to test your line speed on different protocols.
