Telkom's new website

Tried this morning to do a speed test and a new sit opens different to the prev. one click on speed test or tracker, nothing happens it goes to click here for a http but it does nothing and returns. So what is the problem I then tested OS but not so good as always.

Dsl 1024 Blunder!

Hi All,

I was a happy HomeDSL 1024 customer until the 1st September 2006 when my line speed dropped to 130 kbps (roughly 16Kps)! Since then my line averages a download speed of around 25 kBps, bearing in mind it should be stable at well over 100 KBps.

After 7 hours on the phone to Telkom the technician revealed that they were in the process of concluding a MAJOR glitch in the 4 Mbps service. The service causes existing DSL 1024 to experience unstable and erratic line speeds, modem sync issues as well as extremely slow data transfer rates. He also said that the reports were coming in from all over the country and that they were increasing every day, although no internal memo's had been received informing Telkom technicians of the actual problem.

Surely, as this is a TRIAL, we should have had the option to choose to be involved in the test? I continue to pay for my DSL 1024 service only to receive line speeds worse than a dial up connection!

So one guy in CT gets 3096 kbps and I get 130 kbps! Anyone technical spot a LOAD BALANCING problem????

Pls email me if you are on DSL 1024 and experiencing the same problem as I would like to take this to the paper. It is unethical and probably illegal to force people (who are paying for a service) to participate in a trial without their knowledge or consent.

Thanks,
Emma.
