Hi Guys

I tested my adsl line..all ok...I am ok on my cap but I cannot connect
to the net.

When I try to make a pppoe connection I get the following error...

"TCP/IP CP reported error 31: A device attached to the system is not
functioning."

tested router on spare pc and it works 100%

I am on another pc now,

If that doesn't work for you there may be one last thing :)

I've just discovered that if you fiddle IIS to use port 81 it nukes your connection and you get the "not functioning" error :)

Hi teraside

I actualy tried that one as well..Still not having joy at all.

I would start by checking out the network controller, the NIC, just update the drivers if you can, make sure you've only got TCP/IP installed, not IPX, also, see if you need any windows updates, are you running Windows XP?

Hi Guys

It seems I cannot get it right,I did a xp repair, re-installed drivers, removed
anti-virus and firewall,replaced network card and still I cannot surf.

I am able to get a connection,I get an IP address as well with 165....
but it seems that I have been hijacked.I cannot do internet /ftp/email.

edit::0905 I tested with cell c modem..same problem.anyone had this before ?

No idea what could be wrong, maybe phone the ADSL support number 0800 365 365 and see if telscum doesn't know of a fix ;)
