I found that too but the moment I select L2TP there is no place to enter my ISP info. ONLY ExpressVPN's info. which doesnt establish a connection to my ISP first and then make the VPN connection. Those instructions assume that you already have an ISP connection using an alternative router device.
ja I suspect your router won't work, especially if you don't have the config tabs the other doc shows.
yh, I dont have them. I have also looked for a DD-wrt firmware but it is only available for the v4.x and mine is the v5.x
so sad day for me :-(
Try OpenWRT instead.

Mikrotik, Ubiquiti and other enterprise brands would have been a better option.Looks like Gargoyle also supports this model (I think that it is an Atheros AR71xx architecture, make very sure before you brick it):
