Hello, I'm Italian and in February I could be for one month in Cape Town.
The problem is I would like to know if there is a temporary contract for a fast connection (the fastest!) because I should download/upload files and files from Italy of a magazine I should work on (I'm a graphic designer...) while in SA.

Can somebody help me please to know cost and speed of the available connection?
Thanks
Ciao

No problem, Your best bet would be to get Iburst or sentech.

www.iburst.co.za (router costs R2800) U must find out if you could hire one for a month (would work out much cheaper, dunno if they do hire the modems though).

Iburst asks R699+- for a 3gig cap at 1024K speed , and after the cap u can still browse and download at 64K.

We have Telkom as our landline ADSL provider, but for them to do a normal installation at a home would take about 6-8weeks or more. (best bet is to take wireless)

Man, you're Italian, just hook up with some hot SA chick that has broadband, use and abuse for a month and head on home!

Thanks Napalm, I will check with them hoping that is possible to hire it (already I will be spending a lot for renting a place to stay and a vehicle!).

Obviosly Jacobstone solution is the smartest, the fact is that my girlfriend will follow me in SA

Any new information is welcome.
