I am getting sick and tired of being ignored and promised things and having commitments made when they are absolutely meaningless. I cannot beleive that a communications company can be so bad at communicating - All i want to know is why:
1. I have been allocated 350MB when told i would get my extra 1GB of data allocated to me
2. When I am going to get some kind of response on a promise made on this forum in writing regarding the extra money I had to fork out for an Vc prepaid bundle
3. Why commitments get made but dont get followed through.

I have been waiting for clarity on various things for 10 days now and cannot beleive that I still am in the dark, below is the correspondance that has transpired

MTN Representative – 28/06/2007
Hi
I'm in the Roodepoort area.
Where r u from ?
Thanx
MY Response: 28/06/2007
Rivonia, are you at MTN 14th Avenue, its about 15mins from where I am - if the highway is not too busy.
MTN Representative – 28/06/2007
Nice.
I'll make the arrangement with the wife and let you know tomorrow. If all else fails I'll try and see if MTN can push you that fee or at least something towards it. I'll PM you in the morning
My Response 28/06/2007
Thanks appreciate the help, this is what will keep me a loyal MTN customer
MTN Representative – 28/06/2007
I hear you.
This thing really jumped out of control. Glad I'm back to help all these cases from escalating into a mess
My Response 28/06/2007
when will this be corrected on MTN active? its still showing 1GB.
MTN Representative – 28/06/2007
I should be fixed already. PM me your number quick I'll check it for you. I know MTNactive is rather slow on updating info. Takes up to 24 hours sometimes.
My Response – 28/06/2007

MTN Representative – 28/06/2007
It is on
My Response – 02/07/2007
Hi ,
I am still waiting for response from you for the above correspondance, you assured me you would get back to me by Friday morning but have still not heard anything?
MTN Representative – 03/07/2007
U meant Monday morning ?
Sorry I was out of office as I was attending a conference. I'll update you thru the course of today
Thanx
My Response - 03/07/2007
I dont want to make an issue out of this but you said Friday as per your quote "I'll make the arrangement with the wife and let you know tomorrow. If all else fails I'll try and see if MTN can push you that fee or at least something towards it. I'll PM you in the morning”
MTN Representative – 03/07/2007
Sorry m8.
I'll speak to the Manager now.
Will PM you asap
My Response – 04/07/2007
I am starting to get aggravated because I am not getting a response from you.
MTN Representative – 04/07/2007 ***
I have some new info i need to clear first before I could let you with an answer. Let me tell you solong however this is not cleared yet.
Yes the promo was extended. However the allocation is still only 3 months. This means that if you have applied for a bundle on the 18/06/2007 you would have bee provisioned for another 3 months. However your 3 months have expired and I have just allocated you another 3 months for free. This according to the manager will cover the mishaps on your account.
I'm not 100% to sure about this so pls let me get the facts of this first. If I do, i'll post it on the forum.
Thanx
My Response 06/07/2007
Hi,
Its been a week now and i am still unsure about your answers - you say you have reloaded the 3 month special which is great - thank you but yet I am still only getting 350MB for this month and not 1 GB, also you have offered to purchas my 2GB VC sim but have had no response on this either, you also said if all else fails you will see if MTN can push me something towards that fee and i still have no clarity on any of these things, please can you respond to me - its all I ask.

*** A response was posted in a new thread http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=80165 , but this does not address my questions and the answers I am looking for and even my questions in that thread have gone unanswered.

dude, maybe just call it a loss and move to VC PAYG. bundles cheeper ne ways and hardly ne screw ups. Just know that even tho the reps might care, their company doesnt so dont bet on ne miracles.

I just got cut-off by italk (MTN) for a debit order bouncing ( cos after i took the contract i changed banking accounts, then the banks wanted all these forms from me and italk in order to switch the orders from one account to the other so left it cos it required alot of faxing which was not available to me... all in all went away for work so no inet banking to do transfer ) but emailed them prior to being cut off asking for banking details so i could do an EFT but didnt get a reply so now i just say f em.... im gonna now pay you when im ready and if they charge me for a month i was suspended they better give me whats due ( ie my free aitime )

You are describing SA customer service in general.
Out of all the networks, MTN is technically the most reliable. It may be worth putting up with deficiencies in their responses to get a good result.

I hear you and agree, Vodacom is a nightmare to connect to but I have no idea on how to get through to MTN so that i can get the service and response I deserve as a customer. If this continues I have no choice but to move my accounts to Vodacom.

why am i not surprised that I havent had a response yet? obviously and average spend of R1500-00 over 10 years doesnt make me a worthwhile customer.

I'm so glad the PM posts have been displayed now. Maybe I can clear a few issues.

have some new info I need to clear first before I could let you with an answer. Let me tell you so long however this is not cleared yet.

Thanx

1. You went and bought a VC simcard after it has been explained to you that it's been fixed.
2. My sister in law didn't want the Sim card for that price seeing that she would get a full month value out of it with the same price.
3. I have advised you that issue regarding the promo has to be sorted first before we can make a call (refund or not.)

If this is no longer running that means I gave you 3GB for free which you're not entitled to. Up and above that you still want MTN to pay you the R 400 +-you paid for the VC sim.

Now pls look at another thread I've started regarding the promo. It clearly states that I'll post the outcome once this is resolved.

With the air cleared now let me state the following.

If the promo is running the way it's being interpreted that means you're entitled to the 3GB then We'll refund you the VC money.

If not and the Promo ended 18/06/2007 that means you have already received 3GB for free and MTN will not refund you the VC money.

I thought I'll take the time to post this just so that there is no confusion.

Will revert back to you once the promo matter has been resolved. ;)

@ Pitbull - you have an absolute cheek to post on this forum in this manner and dispute what I am saying here as well as going directly against what you have stated previously - remember - I AM THE CUSTOMER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

1. You went and bought a VC simcard after it has been explained to you that it's been fixed.
- what a load of absolute rubbish - go back and read the threads, I clearly state that I had purchased the VC 2 gig only once I had realised that i had only been allocated my 1gig instead of 2 gigs and before this problem had been resolved. I was already asking what about the 2gigs purchased from VC before the proposed resolution of my problems i was having. Also why would i be so stupid once this had been resolved to go and purchase a further 2gigs from VC. Lastly on this point you are insinuating that I am being dishonest by asking for my 2gig to be refunded after I knew you had fixed the problem - I take great offence to this insinuation.

2. My sister in law didn't want the Sim card for that price seeing that she would get a full month value out of it with the same price.
- Why do I have to beg on this forum to get this response, you offered this to me and i repeat offered - I never asked for your generosity - over 10 days ago, so yes at this point the VC 2 gig bundle would be about 2 weeks into its life cycle but thats not my fault, thats you fault for only responding to me now.
I hear you.I'll have the Website guys know to change that.
We'll I'm pre-paired to pay you out of my pocket for the VC sim with the 2GB. My sister in-law has been bugging me for some Data.
That would be 2 flies with 1 shot

If this is no longer running that means I gave you 3GB for free which you're not entitled to. Up and above that you still want MTN to pay you the R 400 +-you paid for the VC sim.
I do not expect anything, as I said this was an offer made by you

I'll make the arrangement with the wife and let you know tomorrow. If all else fails I'll try and see if MTN can push you that fee or at least something towards it. I'll PM you in the morning
by the way you didnt PM me in the morning, it took you 10 days to respond on wether you would actually purchase the 2gig or not.

My last point here is that and this is a question I have probably asked 10 times previousley and that is if you allocated me the extra 1gb then why was only 350MB added to my bundle last month?

I have been very patient and understanding untill this point and also was very gratefull to you when you had claimed to have "sorted out my problem" and am therefore very dismayed at the tone that you have used in the above post. this is totally insane.

@ Pitbull - Thanks for the assistance, I am gratefull to you for sorting this out, this is what will keep me loyal to MTN.

Careful when posting pm content. Make sure the other party knows and agrees that it can be shared. Especially personal comments or information. :)

Hi davidwza.

Pls let me clear this. There is no tone what so ever. I'm trying my utmost to clear the issues for you. I have no idea where the 350MB is that you're referring to. Up till you issues was resolved which was your unbilled inv there would still have been problems. This has been fixed on your inv that was billed 07/07/2007. that includes a credit of R 500+.

Currently you're provisioned with 2GB.

Pls I don't understand the 350MB you're revering too.

2. Pls note that we have a day Job. We're here in our private capacity. I'm not an MTN rep. I do try and help when I can. The same goes for Snakepit.

I do appologise if you take my previous post as rude or direct. that was not my aim. Now pls note that the offer still stands. If the promo is still running we'll reinburse you for the charges if not we have already allocated you 3GB of data.

Now moving from that pls indicate to me what you mean by the 350MB

In light of the above post it is not important as the credit for the data used has been passed ;)

This thread is insane and has gotten out of control, unfortunatly you were the guy on the receiving end of my frustrations, has MTN gotten any closer to announcing their pricing.

Hi davidwza.

No problems mate. It's rather hard to deal with clients via a forum and not face to face. As for the Pricing. The facts have been presented to me and I have noted some issues and my concerns. Once that is looked at and I have received the conclusion I will make it public.

Pls feel free to PM me if you pick up any issues. Like I said I'm no formal Rep. so I help my fellow forumites where I can. ;)
