On face value it's a simple case of abuse of power and assault. Lekker fat paycheck for the guy, IF...
...he didn't provoke them, flash a gun, insulted (k-word etc.) or commited some kind of act forcing the police to take action.

We are so few tax payers, compared to the populace.

It wouldn't be too much of an ask to arrange for a temporary rebuke against grants, although, some really need it, a review perhaps.

He either got beaten because he did something wrong.

Or he got beaten for standing up against something that is wrong.
