Cape Town – Police are investigating the circumstances around an elderly woman's death after she was reportedly “forgotten” outside an old-age home in Ceres.

According to News24, staff at the Huis Maudie Kriel nursing home had wheeled the woman, in her 80s outside on Saturday evening because she wanted to have a cigarette. Her body was discovered the next morning.

Perhaps the person who wheeled her out should have been like maybe I should bring her inside again?

This should be manslaughter. Bloody hell, how do you forget an actual person out in the cold. And ceres gets very cold.
Just like Esidimeni, nobody cares and nothing will happen.
Think back to countless reports of hospitals and clinics where patients, including women giving birth, were ignored and allowed to die because the staff were on tea break etc.

God have mercy on your soul if you grow old in South Africa and is at the mercy of the government or even private old age homes. You are totally f**ked!

South Africa has quite a few good old age home,my mother used to work at a few of them. The good ones tends to be expensive though.

And none of the nursing staff on duty noticed someone in their care was not there - thru the evening, into the night & in the morning.

Some level of care!!

When my mom passed away during the night at a Mediclinic a few years back none of the nureses had even noticed. I was the one that had to notify them when I dropped by the next morning :cautious:

It's a testament to just how captivating the soapies and other shows have become.

If you're on night shift duty, you can now become completely lost in the streaming services, for hours and hours on end.

It's a potent drug.

Like nicotine.

And it kills.
