Police searching for teenage girl who 'slipped off rocks' in Llandudno​


The National Sea Rescue Institute and other rescue teams will assist the police in their search for a 15-year-old girl who went missing in water in Llandudno, Cape Town, on Friday.

A police dive unit is pulling all the stops in the search for a 15-year-old girl who went missing in the sea off Llandudno, Cape Town, on Friday.
Craig Lambinon, spokesperson for the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI), said the teenager could have slipped off the rocks before she was swept away by rip currents. The girl was with friends when this happened.
Cape Town’s emergency centre was the first to be notified.
“A police dive unit is continuing in an ongoing search operation for a 15-year-old local female who went missing in the water at Llandudno,” Lambinon said on Saturday.

Body of missing teen girl found floating with dolphins in Llandudno​


The body of a 15-year-old teenager has been found on Saturday afternoon floating onshore accompanied by a pod of dolphins in Llandudno near a rescue craft.
"Police divers recovered the body of the teenager and was [taken] to the NSRI Hout Bay rescue station. [Her] family and friends have been briefed and have requested for privacy in this time of mourning," Lambinon said.

The body has been has since been taken into the care by police and government health forensic pathology service.

Do you think the dolphins tried to save her or were rather being sinister as dolphins are wont to be?

I used to go rock hopping on the beach as a youth fully aware if I slip I'd probably be knocked and fall into the water and drown.

The current there was always pretty strong. Could usually just sit on your board and it would drag you back out to the backline. Pretty dangerous for the inexperienced.
