The National Prosecuting Authority’s Asset Forfeiture Unit has successfully restrained assets to the tune of R13 million belonging to former police boss Richard Mdluli and his co-accused in the crime intelligence slush fund case.
The Gauteng High Court in Pretoria granted the restraint order in June this year. It was served on Mdluli, former Crime Intelligence head of supply chain management Heine Barnard and former SAPS Crime Intelligence chief financial officer Solomon Lazarus on Tuesday.
Mdluli’s ex-wife and his current spouse, as well as the wives of Lazarus and Barnard, were also cited as respondents in the restraint application.
