Jeez, took you a while.

An organization that represents about 2,700 prosecutors’ offices around the country is slamming Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx in Chicago for her actions in the Jussie Smollett case.Windy City prosecutors said Wednesday that Foxx had only “colloquially” recused herself before her office suddenly decided to drop all charges against the “Empire” actor.

“First, when a chief prosecutor recuses him or herself, the recusal must apply to the entire office, not just the elected or appointed prosecutor,” the National District Attorneys Association said in a statement. “This is consistent with best practices for prosecutors’ offices around the country.”It added: “Second, prosecutors should not take advice from politically connected friends of the accused. Each case should be approached with the goal of justice for victims while protecting the rights of the defendant.”

Text messages have shown that Foxx had tried to get the FBI to take over the probe of Smollett’s hate-crime claims, following her introduction to a relative of the actor by former first lady Michelle Obama’s chief of staff, according to reports.“Third, when a prosecutor seeks to resolve a case through diversion or some other alternative to prosecution, it should be done so with an acknowledgement of culpability on the part of the defendant,” the association said.

“A case with the consequential effects of Mr. Smollett’s should not be resolved without a finding of guilt or innocence.”The statement continued: “Fourth, expunging Mr. Smollett’s record at this immediate stage is counter to transparency. Law enforcement will now not be able to acknowledge that Mr. Smollett was indicted and charged with these horrible crimes and the full record of what occurred will be forever hidden from public view.

“Finally, we believe strongly that hate crimes should be prosecuted vigorously but the burden of proof should not be artificially increased due to the misguided decisions of others,” the group said.On Wednesday, Foxx’s office sought to defend its actions by compiling a list of other cases in which felony charges were dropped, according to CBS 2 Chicago, which cited an internal email.

Its simple really if the Obamas got involved the prosecution wouldn't still be claiming that Smollett is culpable but they are so that points to them fsking up along the way. Occams Razor would also point to plain old incompetence which Chicago has a history of rather than tinfoil theories.

You are all over the place however because the other day you said the case was dropped as Smollett paid off the witnesses.
Smollet did pay off the witnesses. He didn't pay them $3500 for personal training.

Uh huh totally, everyone knows tenuous links and speculation equal the truth, Nick doesn't even know what he posted given he had a different opinion the day before.
I had a different opinion based on different facts. My only mistake was thinking the charges were dropped because of the Nigerians changing there tune, without knowing the rest of the story. The definitely changed their tune to an obvious lie. Why would they do that? They were obviously paid to. This is all obvious to literally everyone except you.

It takes a special person to scam Nigerians.

Have the Nigerians changed their story? The last time that I read up on this incident the Nigerians claimed that they worked with Smollet to stage the attack.

Smollett Family: Jussie ‘Innocent Man’ Who was ‘Unjustly Smeared’
“Our son and brother is an innocent man whose name and character has been unjustly smeared. Jussie is a son, a brother, a partner, a champion for human rights, and a genuine soul who would never be capable of what he was falsely accused of,” a statement via the Smollett family reads. “He was the victim of an assault and then falsely blamed for his own attack,” the statement continued. “This morning truth has prevailed and he has been vindicated. All charges have been dismissed and his record expunged (cleared).”

“The painful incidents we’ve witnessed him endure over the past 7 weeks have been heartbreaking and unjust to say the least. While many were quick to rush to judgement before hearing the actual truth, we are grateful that the truth about Jussie has come to light,” the statement continues. “We look forward to bringing the real perpetrators to justice. We thank God and our village for standing by us during this trying time.”

Earlier Tuesday, Smollett attorneys Tina Glandian and Patricia Brown Holmes announcedthat the actor’s record “has been wiped clean.” Smollett was indicted on 16 felony counts related to making a false report that he was attacked by two men who shouted racial and homophobic slurs in downtown Chicago on January 29. Police and prosecutors have said the black and gay actor falsely reported to authorities that he was attacked because he was unhappy with his pay on the Fox show and to promote his career.

Apart from his family, I don't see anyone defending this POS.

And I don't see why they would drop charges unless the evidence was so shite that they were looking at the possibility of losing the case.

Prosecutors search and live for this kind of case , for publicity as they are also scum of the earth lawyers at the end of the day. And want a name for themselves when they start running for public office or private practice

Taraji P. Henson Talks Jussie Smollett's Dropped Charges: 'The Truth Prevailed'
Jussie Smollett‘s on-screen mother said she never believed he orchestrated a hate crime against himself and expressed joy Tuesday that all charges against her Empire co-star had been dropped.

“I’m happy that the truth has finally been set free, because I knew it all along,” Taraji P. Henson told USA Today. “We’re all happy for him, and thank God the truth prevailed.”

Im sorry when did i say they didnt change their tune? Quote my post where i said so or stfu, whats obvious is that's this isn't some grand master plan from Obama, that's literally my only argument.

Smollet did pay off the witnesses. He didn't pay them $3500 for personal training.

Cool and i never denied he may have paid them off.
