But seriously the poll needs to be registered members only or we need one of those image code authenticators with the morphed image with junk on it.

Been searching MAO for these polls you keep talking about! And... in the end, found them! Again referring to the BaanBoard, also running vBulletin, they keep their polls inside the forums, actually in a seperate sub-forum, which is also the only place on the baord where polls can be posted. Maybe a better idea for MyADSL as well? AFAIK it's part of the standard vBulletin software anyway, so why not use it?

or u could just use a tracking cookie to make sure ppl dont vote more than once, for ppl who arent registered

Problem is that tracking cookies can be deleted so this only deters the casual "multiple voter". I still believe important polls should require people to register before voting. It may deter a few people who are too lazy to register but at least the results can be verified and the mods would easily be able to track irregularities.

Isn't there some way to record the computer name and only allow one vote per computer name or something like that? It would be a real pain in the ass to have to change the computer name after every vote.
