To me it's really stupid. Means I need to sit by the car for 30 seconds before walking off, else someone can just open the boot and take whatever they want...

Stupid for those of us that aren't forgetful but for those that do it often, it's probably a miracle cure. Personally I agree with you but hey, those stay at home moms need cars to stop them from locking their keys in with the groceries.

The fob should over-ride the timer but maybe that was too complicated to implement.

Am I the only one who can't find the bit where you locked the car again after opening the boot?

Shouldn't need to if your car was locked before opening just the boot with the boot button
