Anyone ever dabbled with such a project?

I've always loved the car and only really thought about it when a mate came across a 718 Spyder on Gumtree.
After seeing this ad, I became intrigued about a 356 replica/kit car.

I don't like that car, but it had me thinking about how much it'd cost to get a replica of a 356 on the road.

Are these kits available locally (for the 356) and what engines would work with them?

Thanks for the link :)

Pricey, but looks like good work
I'll hopefully run into a body on some farm and then take it from there :p
I'd like to build it myself at some stage.

Looked into it recently, depending on what you put in, it could cost anything from R80,000 to R250,000 :p

(and there are a few places that do the 356 kit car - google it for South Africa, I came across five places, unfortunately I don't have the links at work).

There was a nice 356 on gumtree recently with original Porsche dials going for R80,000 up the West Coast.. If you want I can email you the guys details and details on the vehicle - never got round to going out to look at it.

It's a 1994 Prelude 2.2 VTEC
And there I was wondering what import it was as I assumed all the body stuff was standard :D
Mentally tearing away all the extras now makes it more familiar.

Always liked the preludes, just wished Honda had more powerful versions.

Are you doing anything to the engine or keeping it stock?

Post some more pics from other angles if you can.
