Hey Guys,

Wondering if anyone has ever moved cell providers and then signed up for a new contract at the destination provider while keeping the number you moved?

I know you can port between providers while on prepaid but have never then tried to sign up for a contract once moved and kept the original number?

Thanks in advance!

Yes you can.

1. Convert your number to prepaid (if it’s not already)
2. Port to new provider, you will be on a prepaid package.
3. Sign up a contract on with the new provider on your existing number.

I recently ported to Mtn from Vodacom to take advantage of the Black Friday deals. The consultant at Mtn did everything for me including the port and processing of contract.

Can one port a prepaid MTN number to a MTN contract that has already started?
