You can get a single car battery charger anywhere from 400 to 1000.

If you don't mind me asking, why do you want one? Technically if your car is ok, then you should never have to charge the battery unless you have drained it by leaving the lights or the radio on ect. If you find that you have to, then either the battery needs replacing or your alternator is faulty.

Do yourself a favor, get the battery checked before you buy a charger. Go to a Battery Centre, they will test the battery and alternator for free, and if it is just flat they can charge it for you, most will also be able to supply you with a loan while they're charging it.

And if you do decide to buy a charger, then try and get an intelligent one that won't overcharge your battery. Overcharge = damage = new battery for nothing.
I would recommend either the Einhell charger from Diesel Electric, or the Hawkins Charger.

the issue AA were at my house yesterday to recharge it. so this morning i got into the car and it started perfectly.when i tried to put my radio on it wasnt turning on so i popped the hood to check the cable was connected to the battery.it was and when i got back into the car and jiggled the radio head unit around the radio came on BUT then my battery was completely flat.i think it might my sound is causing the battery to go flat? i dont see how thats possible

I think one of those battery chargers will always be handy especially for a car like my Citi Golf :p

If you have huge amount of sound in your car, then for sure, it can drain the battery. Or if there is a short. Tho not as fast as what you just said..

Did the AA charge it overnight? Thats usually what a battery needs. A good 16 hours on a charger.
If you do have a lot of sound, try and get a battery with a higher amperage. I'm guessing that if you drive a golf, you either have a 619 or a 628 in there.
Try and go for a 646 or a 652 if it will fit. The higher amps will feed your sound better. You might also have to put a stronger alternator in there.

It its a short, you will have to take it to a auto electrician to isolate it.

Oh f@#$@# i really hope its not a short. you know how these ppl are. its something small and by the time its over its 2-3 k later.

the AA guy didnt do a full charge but someone at work says its the alternator that might have issues.it just sounds like a short because it started with no problems and then in a space of 30 seconds the battery was completely flat ....didnt even jerk or anything.stone dead. might be a short then.
great time of the year for car trouble
