Hi,
I ported from Vodacom to MTN near the end of June and received an N95 from MTNSP on ProCall 220. I have two problems that MTNSP cannot fix (I have tried both Morningside, Sandton City and George MTNSP centres):
- While I can send/receive MMS's between MTN numbers, I can't send to or receive MMS's from Vodacom phones. They just dissapear either way. I can however send/receive SMS's to/from Vodacom phones.
- MTNSP says I can check my account and minute balances by calling *162*51916# but when I do I get a messages that says "Sorry. Only MTNSP customers can use this service. Please call..." Since I am an MTNSP customer, this message is obviously wrong but they don't seem to be able to fix it.
My theory is that one (or both) cellphone company systems have not been fully adapted for ported numbers and my 082 number is confusing MTN, Vodacom or both.
Anyone have any insight into what might be happening or perhaps a fix?
BTW, It's hard to find anyone in the MTN system that knows anything more that just the basics.
Thanks, Ken
