Porting question - Cell C

Hi Cell C Rep

I am planning to port my MTN number to Cell C shortly. Please can you advise me on the order of events:

On your website you can submit a number and select when your contract is terminating, if my last day is 17th of September which do I select? As options are 0 or 1-3 months

What are the terms and conditions of porting away should I not get adequate service via Cell C ?

Lastly do I port first then give notice on existing contract?

Just test it on prepaid SIM first.

Give them separate notice, they could assign a different phone number to your contract and continue billing.

Hi Dr Who,

For "Time left on current contract" you can select 1-3 month or when applying for the new contract you can request to port and your MTN number will be activated on the new contract.
You don't have to give notice when porting out.

The waiting period is three month before you can port out again.

Thanks for the help. And to all regarding porting of my number from MTN to Cell C.

I currently live in the shadow of Table mountain and cant even talk on my phone at home ( on MTN ) but Cell C is perfect. I have tested the quality over the weekend but I cant afford to have my phone number inactive during the week so hence I am still slightly concerned over coverage as a whole.

From a cost point of view Cell C is much much cheaper and as my Iphone is still perfect ( and waiting for the 10 Sept outcome ) I have no desire to upgrade my line at present. Hence I would much rather take a chance and see what the future holds for Cell C.

I will be sure to Rant or Rave here soon regarding the outcome and C for myself.......
