Post Office begs for R8.16 billion government bailout

It pays the grants. It's definitely getting that money.

Yeah in reality we all know that its getting the money, and part of the reasoning will be because it pays grants, but they will also pontificate profusely about saving jobs and prestige and and and.

We all know it's about keeping those grants flowing. The ANC stops those grants and it probably loses the election.

I think its way more than just losing the election...

If they stop the grants, they lose the country (and I'm talking more along the lines of the events of July being nationwide)

So I'll get my package from January then? Seems reasonable.

Sorry...no bailout money available.
Government had/has to pay for vaccines.

No thanks, we will use Cuba’s post office.

Or maybe merge with Kenya’s post office.

You do know that they ARE already paid to distribute grants, so this R8b is for losses to the rest of the business.

When last did anyone actually receive something they wanted via the post office? (Not including e-toll bills).

They need to change the structure of these things.
You dont hear about hospitals or schools getting bailouts, theyre just an allocation to health and education at the annual budget speech. Just change the post office to be communications budget or letters or something. This term, bailouts, is an embarrassing term and needs to be renamed. /s

Look if you going to ask for a bailout go big or go home ..
8 Billion !! For Phuking Phuck sakes.
Like we have those kind of surpluses
But ask for 8 get 4 - That's plenty enough to enrich the cadres more.

R8B = a few private jets, 100 New Mercs, 100 or so Rolexes. A purple suit or 10, and a few trips to Mauritius, and if we're lucky 1 post office will get a new coat of paint.

And then next year: Eish, da money she's gone.

I just want my retirement income to be tax free for the rest of my life! I am currently in my sixties so therefore it won't cost the government anywhere near R10 million.
I think my request is fair considering that the PO is after all asking to use my taxes to again suck them out the cesspool they created for themselves and not the pandemic. They were well in the dwang more than two years ago!
