We do need a working postal system. Because we don't have one we have lost hundreds of thousands as a result of important documents going missing or not arriving on time. Over time our country has now gotten used to using other means but it's also more expensive and less efficient.

Close the post office and pay the grant recipients at their respective local spaza. shops
 
How is this country even still running, how are there not flames everywhere, what is keeping it going ?

How is another R8,000,000,000 going to help when they couldn't even capitalise on increased package deliveries caused by the very pandemic they are blaming for their current situation.

These were just normal documents. Postnet is raking it in with R99 for a parcel then they don't even have to deliver it. If you want delivery they charge extra. Then if there's a gate for some strange reason they charge even more.

I've asked this same question. I can't remember what it was like in 2003 when I left. I think there was an issue regarding Postnet?
 
I say give it to them. The sooner we reach rock-bottom, the sooner we can start to rebuild.
 
No bailout. Rather charge every South African 30c per email and send the funds to the Post Office.
