I would just like to bring something to people's attention in the event there is something fishy going on with PostNet and QNOMORE car licence renewals.

It seems that PostNet / QNOMORE is overcharging people for their car licences. The standard traffic department fee for my car licence renewal for 2021 is R420 but the QNOMORE system at PostNet (Cape Town branch) wanted to charge me R575 for the licence. When I queried this with PostNet they said that they made a mistake when entering my details and the licence cost was actually R466, which is still too much. I queried this amount with PostNet again and was told that this is the correct price which it clearly wasn't. It seems odd that they were able to amend the cost from R575 to R466 but they weren't able to set the correct price in line with the traffic dept. This R466 is not inclusive of PostNet's service fee btw, so where the R46 difference comes from I don't know. Not a huge sum but if millions of people are potentially being overcharged then that's a lot of money going somewhere.

I approached QNOMORE and asked them why the inflated price and they told me that the quotes are estimates only. This makes less than no sense. Why is QNOMORE sending out estimate prices in a WhatsApp payment link where people have no option but to pay the amount in that link!? Something doesn't seem right here as QNOMORE made no mention of a service fee in their reply which leaves me wondering if it's PostNet or QNOMORE inflating their prices.

They're obviously going to charge more for the service.

I can't see an obvious fee structure on their website, which is bad, but it looks like a small operation if they only offer a whatsapp number for service.

I paid nearly R800 bucks last month at Post office to renew mine and I had to wait for 45mins outside the shop because of the social distancing thing while at the same time watching the lady at the counter joking and laughing out loud with her colleagues sipping on a cup of tea:ROFL::ROFL:
