The techie cant take money from you.
Ask him. But Im sure you will have to go to a telkom outlet.
Its no big deal. Its so that your telephone signal doesnt mess up your ADSL signal. Thats all. You dont need it immediately.

Thats bloody stupid. The POTS filter/splitter is essential to the way that ADSL functions and is supposed to be installed on every ADSL line. If one is not installed, your problems could be endless.

Heh! KARNAUGH!
Whats your problem?

I have personally seen you rip into members of this forum. Its enough now. Leave me alone, buddy. And dont you dare refer to me as stupid or otherwise.
This is a community of people trying to help each other.

The same person stated in this post also. What does Telkom supply? I quote him,"
Hi all

Forgive my ignorance, I am in the process of getting adsl. Telkom offered me a Marconi modem, but I see that you get lots of these modems/routers from pc shops. Which make would you advise me to buy (d-link/dynalink/mecer etc) and does Telkom still supply this thing called a micro filter or splitter (same thing?, I dont know)if you dont buy their expensive modem?

If I have to buy my own splitter/micro-filter were do I buy it?

Thanks for your help"

I said to the fellow, if you read it that it isnt immediately necessary to have the filter. He was merely refering to getting the filter from the techie guy from telkom and I said it isnt a train smash if it isnt installed at the same time. He obviously needs to go to telkom's offices to buy the filter and probably isnt near any. So he can in the mean time have the ADSL installed and cut the filter in later.
I personally only put my filter on my setup a week later.

But perhaps you should look at the way you communicate to people on this forum. I personally think your manners need brushing up.
