We all love Chrome. The statistics prove that it has grown to be the most popular browser in the world (roughly 64.8% of all internet visits are on Chrome). But it’s got a dirty secret: it’s devastating to your laptop battery life.

TL;DR; If you’re a MacBook user, you’re losing an average of 1 hour of total battery life by using Chrome. Firefox is a little better, but Safari is the clear winner. You’ll want to use Safari if you want to get the most battery out of your laptop.

Only ever use Safari. Don't believe in using other other browsers for my Mac.

i have safari, chrome & firefox.
i've found chrome to be the most resource hungry of the 3 - very seldom use it.

safari & firefox are used for different purposes.
i use safari for websites that i very frequently visit and have no need for any media to load - ie mybb
so, with safari, adblock is running and images etc are disabled.
firefox is used if i go to sites where there is media i specifically want to see - google images, youtube, facebook etc

The reason is the same as why ie takes so little time to load/doesn't use that many resources. They already load it into the system. So even if you have chrome/firefox running, safari still has some of its components running.
