Power Plans - may as well pack your bags

Oops - Alzheimers:
Paul Mashatile is the R100K lunches
That is Themba Maseko

Sorry, Themba - although, you are still useless.

Prob is, you must have quite a bit of "bob", not so?

Yes and no. The whole procedure costs quite a bit (about 40K) and then you need money when you get over there. We have some saved up and sold our house last year in preperation. We also run a business that can operate from pretty much anywhere so that helps. The alternative is getting a job before you go which means that at least you don't walk into a negative cash flow situation. SA will lose all of the foreign income and we will have to get rid of our local staff unless we leave someone managing a local branch. Thats a decision we still need to make. The last couple of weeks cost us a small fortune in lost business and we will still feel the effects for quite a while to come because of the lost productivity.

Sorry to hear that...If you guys leave, all i can say is i hope everything of the best to you guys...Its a pity to leave a beloved country behind, but if youre forced to do so due to quite a bit of "unsteadyness" here, well, what can you do?

It really is that simple though.
People want to know that you have a plan, people want to know that government is willing to give something, and people want leadership.

Anything they would lose on the "geyser rebate" would be gained back by people blowing the SARS cheque at the local mall anyways.
And, since they are very likely to have to do this geyser thing anyways, why not make that their "plan scapegoat"?

Perhaps I am over simplifying things, but three days of talks must have come up with ONE plan. FFS - offer rebates on a Weber braai! It cannot be that hard.

It is that simple but if they were organised like that we wouldn't be in this situation.
