I wonder how much load reduction there will be tonight?
Yeah but it's generally not been this high overThings were already on edge on the 10th.
The max is them using the diesel.Burning diesel like crazy![]()
1.8GW of it plus 1GW IPP plus 2.5GW of pumped hydro. How much more do they have? The max is them using the diesel.
just over 31.8GW of it plus 1GW IPP plus 2.5GW of pumped hydro. How much more do they have?
1.8 + 1 = 2.8just over 3
1.8 + 1 = 2.8
Just over 3 - 2.8 = ?
Yes, if you add 1.8 + 1 + 2.5 = 5.3GW already being used. There is like 6gw of peaking power maybe more if you include batteries, of course its never always all available.
I wonder if they are working on that 24.9% as we speak?Monday and Tuesday

Still above 60 sure, but I mean why such high planned, that should be down 4% by now which would give the grid a lot more breathing room, also see unplanned went up a %
Maybe Eskom finally realising that it needs to do significant maintenance even if that means stage 1-2?Monday and Tuesday

Problem is, can we trust them to do the work now that elections are over.. have strong doubts it can last.I imagine most Saffers feel the same.
Is it under the yellow?? No so probably not.I wonder if they are working on that 24.9% as we speak?
Who knows? But yeah last year this time it was sitting at 3% lower maintenance but almost 10% higher unplanned.Maybe Eskom finally realising that it needs to do significant maintenance even if that means stage 1-2?
I've always said I'm prepared to endure prolonged stage 2 provided it's accompanied by that increase in maintenance to actually have the generation capacity improve instead of decline. I imagine most Saffers feel the same. It's insane to push generators to their extreme just to keep the lights on short term like Eskom has been doing.
Now people know why there is loadshitting. That red part has been around 25% for about 10 years now. Probably FUBAR'ed, never to work again and may aswell restructure the "installed capacity" numbers down to reflect that.Is it under the yellow?? No so probably not.
Actually that would be the black part, technicallyNow people know why there is loadshitting. That red part has been around 25% for about 10 years now. Probably FUBAR'ed, never to work again and may aswell restructure the "installed capacity" numbers down to reflect that.
I mean isn't that what I said
