Poweralert Stage 3 (old news)

Yup, they just can't seem to get the unplanned outages contained like last year

Can't be poor quality repairs - the "newer" crowd has been too long at it so they certainly have experience and have been improving until now.

IMO most likely the same old story from before, which they always try to hide at first - sabotage
If correct, then it's at least under further control, have to give them that.

What else is there that explains it?
Maybe more older units starting to negatively escalate? Possible, in part maybe

I just cannot give this Eskom ANC the benefit of the doubt, their pig behaviour is already decades old so too entrenched.

Either sabotage or the weather, harsh weather in the power station region could be breaking things.

Some clarity for others not sure about sabotage again - weather wise wouldn't include that first spate of unexpected new LS a few weeks ago of course.

Yeah weather would, power stations aren't partial to water, especially high volumes of it and we had a lot of flooding.

Almost 30 days and no power failures for some. Holding thumbs for you guys who don't have solar.

I'm afraid to say that Alfred definitely works for Eskom, he closes open, unresolved tickets very efficiently.

It is impossible to actually speak to a person at Eskom short of driving to megawatt park, at least not one that I found.

I have called them to only hold for more then 2 hours and to get kicked off the line .....

Just noticed imports are low for last week, like almost half? Also, the 1.3GW of ILS usage on wednesday peak, or else there would have been stage 2 loadshitting:
