There was a fire at Kusile in 2018, Majuba had a fire in 2019, Duvha had a unit explode in 2003, Koeberg had a jellyfish problem in 2005 (yes first time). I mean international imports have been down 700mw for months now.

Imagine when they decommission 8GW. That's almost half what coal is generating now.

Yup scary thought that. Though they could just keep them running, like they have with some of the older power stations.

Love how that myth still seems to be around. I mean 5500 of that 6000 came online in February 2023. Plus most of it will be offline around 4pm.
 
I wonder what the life span of an oil pipe is and when the ones on units 1 - 5 are going to break.

Yeah, I guess Eskom wasn't feeling the heat yet from the burning coals of public anger to bother with such things.
