Powershot SX130 IS vs IXUS 130 IS

Depends on what you want it for. Ixus is more compact, but the Powershot will take better photos. Both have a 1/2.3" sensor, so the lower pixel density will swing image quality in favour of the Powershot.

Yeah, pretty much. Higher MP results in more noise. The nice thing about the IXUS is that it has HDMI. I'm also not too happy that the Powershot takes normal AA batteries. Was hoping it was a rechargeable camera. Would rechargeable batteries be okay to use on the Powershot?

:confused: It will almost certainly take rechargeable AA's. IMO that's better than some generic "only works with this camera" battery.

I'm like you - I prefer the proprietary batteries - they last longer - but rechargeable will be fine.

Cool, thanks. Seems to be an awesome little camera and the pricing is not bad either.
