PPPoe dialing with Smoothwall

Hi everyone.I am not a great linux boffin so please be patient.I have setup smoothwall to create a dialup via th eI-burst modem ussing pppoe.

I get the folowing erros in th elogs and I am not sure where to start looking.

08:54:48 pppd Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/ttyp1
08:54:48 pppoe read (asyncReadFromPPP): Session 59: Input/output error
08:54:48 pppoe Sent PADT
08:54:53 pppoe PPP session is 61
08:54:54 pppd PAP authentication failed
08:55:00 pppd Connection terminated.
08:55:00 pppd Using interface ppp0
08:55:00 pppd Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/ttyp0
08:55:00 pppoe read (asyncReadFromPPP): Session 61: Input/output error
08:55:00 pppoe Sent PADT

I have tried all the authentication types but i still get this error.

Yep userid and passwords are correct.tested it with a hardware pppoe dialer and it works.

I dont think that its an authentication problem, if you ask me the smoothwall box is not talking to the modem properly.

My thoughts exactly.Have you got an example of what needs to be in the field on under PPP setup on smoothie.Here is my screen input

Method : I tried all of them currentlu Other logon script

If I change the autentication method to MSCHAP /PAP I get authentication failure.
