ASUS today announced the DSL-N16U ADSL modem router, an 802.11n wireless router with a built-in ADSL/ADSL2+ modem and dual-WAN support. DSL-N16U offers Wi-Fi speeds up to 300Mbit/s on the 2.4GHz wireless frequency band, and uses dual independent CPUs for the wired and wireless networking functions to ensure fast and reliable data connections. DSL-N16U features a hardware NAT capable of data transfers speeds of up to 900Mbit/s between the internet and the local network, a feature that can improve both reliability and performance on modern high-speed broadband services.

Asus_za.How does the ASUS line of product handle the poor quality of ADSL in south africa. I Read somewhere that there are 2 different chip-sets made for ADSL routers. One is faster but does not handle poor connections well.and the other handles our poor quality copper much better.I know the d-link uses the chip-set that handles poor connection better. Some input would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I am a big fan of Asus routers.

When will this be available locally and what is the RRP?

I did not know there is an ASUS agency in SA ,last time i wanted a modem ASUS DSL-N55U they had to import it for me .
But now it is not working , may be a reflash and reset will fix it , i will get round to it some time and see if it is borked or not.
