Licence to print money i would say with those data costs.
Once again the powers that be have failed to help the nation by regulating costs downwards to help people get educated via the internet.

Imagine a world with sms costing 5c where would whatsapp n instant messaging be.

5c? That's still a lot of money, per hour even. Today already (At 10:42AM I've sent 25 messages on WhatsApp and 2 were pictures. I think Mobile network providers are just greedy. They are making a lot of money as is with just data, but they want more.

So Cell C and Telkom still the cheapest and they allow roaming on the big two networks....

Article is wrong, 1GB is R160 for MTN plus you get 500MB free.
