This scam is a DP for people who don't work for government or are public officials or politicians in office. Seeing that their pension funds are defined benefit the only people who get shafted are everyone else the politicians receive their pension regardless of market performance thanks to tax payer funding, the same tax payer who stands to lose his own pension benefits when the returns go negative.

I read at least 3 very recent articles in newspapers since Friday last week where financial companies are cautioning people against resigning to get their hands on pension money, as well as those cancelling RA's and investments. These 3 articles from 3 different companies/people is a clear indication that there is a massive problem in the markets. The people doing this are just trying to save what they can. They cannot be blamed for doing this.

Everyone knew the risk in 92, 27 years ago. It was obvious.
