A tablet for R999 is a steal but you still can't expect a lot, guessing it's the bottom of the range:

Screen Resolution : 800x480
CPU : Cortex A5

It's like a re-branding of one of those popular Chinese one's which you see on every Chinese online electronics store - identical specs. Pretty decent for R999.

Anything lower than 1280x800 on a 7" tablet is :wtf:

Judging from the YouTube reviews, it's a bargain and Prestigio does roll out official Android updates unlike the normal "cheap" manufacturers.

Bought it and haven't recharged it since the original shelf battery life ran out.

Honestly not impressed - yes it is very cheap, but dont expect to do anything on it other than watching movies. Very sluggish / poor performance, lags every 5 seconds and practically freezes for 30 seconds each time you install a new app.

On the upside, email / keyboard seemed to work ok.

I would like to buy my almost 3 year old son a tablet and I have a choice between the leappad 2 and an andriod tablet. he loves playing on the ipad, angry birds, fruit slash etc. Would this be a good buy for him. I would have like for it to have a camera though.

The leappad 2 is R1299 and the games price ranges is R299- R399 which I think is a complete rip off.

Any other alternatives would be welcome.
Thanks

Wait for our GeeKo Junior, GeeKo Premium and GeeKo Smart Tablet PC ‘s range , these are flying out tomorrow from the factory and hopefully will be here around Friday

These products are absolutely stunning and the price is going to be fantastic as we took forward cover at R8.20/USD$1 for these items

Just bought the Sansui 7" for my 3 year old niece from hifi corp, she is loving it and it is actually not a bad tab at all, expected much worse.

Prestigio tablet 7"

anyone buy it (yet), any thoughts?
I got a Prestigio 3G from Kalahari, no problems, its amazing, only problem i think is that it has limited memory, but they made up for it, they sell it with a usb cable that you can plug in your memory stick, then you dont need to burden your tablet with too much data

If they bring a tablet PC i will certainly buy it, i see the phones is out, that is eye catching too and the price is low.

Most of the time when you buy something with such a low value, you think it must be junk, this case its not true. this is a very good product. if you get stuck and it freeze like any other, just reset/reboot/restart and you are good to go.

Prestigio 7" multipad duo (3G & Wifi enabled)

I bought my tablet in January 2014, it came with a usb cable, which make up for the limited memory, i can put in a flasdrive and access anything without corrupting my memory, even load antivirus, decide what i want on my tablet or not. I get free wifi and on top of it i have 3G data on my contract, beauty of this tablet is, i can use it as a wifi hub, use my laptop via my tablet. Video an normal calls with a proper headset device, this is way much more than what i expected, only problem is, i dont find a prestigio cover. At various stores they brush off a universal cover, which is not suitable, it puts pressure on the buttons, causing the tablet to have problems. When i took the cover off returned it to the store, my tablet and i are still getting along. If the cell phones will come to south africa, i will certainly want to buy one, it is really good particularly when it was so cheap. Oh not to forget i can watch movies too and it has a office program that allows you to print from your tablet via wifi and open pdf documents also. Its an amazing experience. I will highly recommend, oh i dont get paid to write all of this.

Kalahari is selling their cellphones but the Huawei Y300 and G510 are better buys :)
