Still bandwidth problems

I thought this was fixed this week till i logged in today was getting great speed last night then sundenly today not again.

Phoned helpdesk got told to change my mtu. After repeatingly telling the person that this was not the problem. Got passed on to someone else who was aware that there was a problem in the PTA area and told me that what i needed to do was disconect my modem and try and get a new IP. Told them that this was an unaceptable solution that every time that this happened that I had to go and change my IP and that the error needed to be fixed on there side. Which the person did not seem happy about. Took my details saying that they would log it (which means that it has disapeard.)

By the way did any one read the article on myAdsl " WBS iBurst Speed Problems in Pretoria" where Iburst stated that "according to their records there are currently no problems with the speeds" :) . So no customer has phoned to complain of course.

I currently hate this company and as soon as i get ADSL wil be canceling.

Hey i don't even normally reach my cap so theoretically i am one of the people that they would want to keep.

Now I have to use telkom which was one of the main reason for going with Iburst.

By the way have heard that Sentech is working really well in PTA so if you still want wireless.

Well, I did it, I cancelled my iBurst.
Back to dial-up until I can get ADSL384 installed.

and when is that

It will probably take a while, but hey, this way iBurst wasn't a total flop (they bought back the modem). I can live with dial-up (for a while).

What's the status of problems in Pretoria, have they been resolved?

Pta problems

As far as I can see from the posts:
1. There are still problems with low speed, but higher than 8 kbps (as was applicable to uncapped accounts), so the specific problem in this thread seems to be resolved
2. Most of the sticking IP problems seem to be resolved as well
3. There are still varying degrees of limited upload speed on uncapped accounts (eg I cannot get more than 64 kbps for extended periods, mostly with an average of 32 kbps, and peaks of 128 kbps at the start of transfers)
