Price cuts on ICASA agenda

jurisdiction?
war chest for litigation?
implementation of facilities leasing regulations to ensure LLU?
timeous notification and invitation to the public - for goodness sake its not like the public generally respond, O wait the LLU hearings garnered a great deal of interest in these forums.

Arg, I really get the feeling that ICASA just wants to thump about for political reasons rather than ensure that the rules are followed and lets things take course. For goodness sake if Telkom does impair parts of their copper network the line access deficit calculations shift and so pricing may come down in spite of ICASA - rather than because of it
 
Hope something good come out of this, also ICASA must look into spectrum management and have use or lose it policy
 
In her Budget Vote speech, Minister of Communications Dina Pule announced that she “intends to issue a policy directive on transparent pricing of services such as SMS, Voice and Data to ensure market pricing transparency for the benefit of consumers”

Any sort of price cuts in the SA ICT sector would be nice, if only it can happen and not just debated and debated and ... :sick:
