As if the fact that I have not unpacked clothes from China make my statement untrue. Nike (among other big brands) clothes are manufactured in China, and other Asian countries. They are of FAR better quality that other crap manufactured there. So it's not bad, just because it says Made in China.

Why are you bringing Nike into this? This was about clothes sold in chain stores not name branded wear.

I reside in Pretoria, and I do work related travelling quite frequently to Nelspruit, Bushbuckcridge and Bela Bela. Are clothing prices in smaller towns such as Nelspruit, Witbank, Bela Bela, Bushburkcridge, etc, cheaper than in large cities such as Pretoria, Joburg and Capetown? I haven't made a comparison yet, but I will after coming across this thread.

I might even purchase clothes in small towns and bring them and sell them to people in large towns :D

Clothing prices are woes. But then coupled with the weak rand and high import duties its not unexpected. I wish I knew a good woman's tailor so I can get custom clothes made. I dont feel like paying an exorbitant price for something that doesnt fit properly anymore.

It's very hard to find stuff that fits me. I swear they make all SA clothes geared towards short men with boeps and chunky thighs.

They just guess the measurements I think...

I regularly get pants that are way to long for me by miles...despite me being towards the top of the height range already. Not sure who their intended target audience is there...

I cannot find a pair of pants that fit me (lengthwise) since the age of 20.

Sold my old phone and bought about R1150 of clothing from Mr Price in Vangate Mall (CPT); not a Mall I normally go to but I heard they have a great range.

R1150 later and 11 pieces of mens clothing and 3 addons for the wife (scarf; earrings; necklace-type move).

Good value as I got 2 semi formal Chinos; good quality PJ set; semi casual shoes to go with the chinos; 2 semi formal long sleeves & more

Very happy and cant complain; doubt I could get more relatively "decent" clothing elsewhere for the same R1150.

Unfortunately that is the South African figure... For girls the cheap clothes seem to fit a certain figure and the better fits are just so expensive.

Our normal MR price has sweet farkall. The only relatively decent clothes are the ones in MR Sport, and even there the decent ones cost R400+, get a nice "Thermal jacket" there for R400.

I love Jeffreys Bay for this reason.
Factory shops up there sell awesome clothes for really cheap.
Always Billabong, Volcom, DC, quicksilver, etc.

DC shoes half price, Volcom half-price, etc.

We go up a few times a year and go mad.
My son loves it.

Anyone know where I can get cheap, good flip-flops? I think I've gone through 3 pairs this year, and they've gone up to R60 a pair. Always the left toe piece that snaps.

 I paid more than that for a pair of gloves and a scarf from Woolies that I bought two weeks ago . Last week they were sold out. Decide for yourself what that means.

Stop buying cheap crap then?

Just get Havaianas and be done with it.

I can't stand Havaianas.
I wear tslops or hang ten flip flops.
R60 bucks or so and they're ok.
Just replace them at that cost.

I prefer a nice pair of leather jesus sandles but they're impossible to find.
